SARAH // HOTEL CALIFORNIA

vintage shirt & cardigan & shorts & sunnies // urban outfitters jewels & hat & purse // topshop boots

Looking through these photos brings me back to one of my favourite days in the city. The morning was spent brunching at Dotties, one of SFs best/oldest breakfast bars. Hannah got to know the cities crazies as a few of them tried to to make our date into a trio. From there we took a trip back in time and wandered the streets of the Haight-Ashbury. This is where the best vintage shops live which makes it a fitting setting for this shoot where all but my accessories are vintage. I'm always incorporating hints of color like you see here, but my New Years resolution is going to be no more black! We'll see how long that lasts...

HANNAH // WINDY CITY

vintage jacket & tee & sunnies // Urban outfiters jeans & hat // aldo boots // pour la victoire bag

Its finals season ya'll so I'm going to spare you my rants for today. Instead, I've decided to grace you with this tourist pic of me having the best day ever in San Francisco (if it wasn't obvious by my facial expression).

Cheers,

Hannah

SARAH // LOUDER THAN WORDS

American Apparel jeans // Brandy Melville top // Zara jacket // Marc Jacobs purse // Aritzia beanie

Yet again another lame attempt at adding colour. This day was Hannah's last in the city and we spent it being the ultimate tourists and walked across the Golden Gate Bridge. Despite the beautiful sunshine this was probably one of the windiest days I have experienced in the city. We laughed our asses off with our hair blowing everywhere while we tried not to lose our hats. Unfortunately with SFs moody weather you are never really prepared for what's to come, it's always a "cross your fingers and go" type of thing. I'm wearing a more casual outfit for wandering the city but I've used different textures to keep it interesting. I've recently been reminded of my love for velvet and continue to look for new ways to style old pieces like the ones in this post. While living the broke student life I'm constantly finding inspiration in hidden gems that have been tucked away in the corners of my closet.

SARAH // RUBY TUESDAY

wearing: zara jacket  | vintage top | | urban outfitters dress, hat & bag

Someone recently asked me, "What is the point of fashion and dressing up everyday?". Now, not everyone would agree on this topic, but I see fashion as the simplest form of self expression because we all get dressed every day and we all have clothes in our closet. Getting "dressed up with no where to go" is like a hobby of mine. After a busy day I'm always finding solace in coming home and playing with the textures and colours in my closet.

Here, I'm layering this girly top with edgy, black accents. The photographer, Fouad Alkhateeb, and assistant photographer, Eric Park, really taught me about life on the other side of the camera. As my second year in SF continues I am beginning to notice how fashion, dance, photography, and many other arts can form a melting pot together and I am sure having fun testing the waters.

INSPIRATION // LUANNA PEREZ

Luanna Perez is a fashion blogger from Peru based out of New York City. Her grungy style and bright red hair are out there, but she mixes patterns and layers her clothes in a way that any reader can relate to. Her outfits incorporate vintage and designer brands so that anyone can draw inspiration from what she wears. "Style" isnt a Balmain pant suit or Chanel bag, because its not about what you wear its about how you wear it; Luanna Perez styles everyday clothing in unique ways so that her posts don't leave you feeling like you need to go out and buy a new wardrobe, instead she inspires you to look into your closet with a fresh eye. Her blog Le Happy also has many home decor posts that show off her rad New York apartment. (www.le-happy.com)

Here are some of our favourite looks:

SARAH | CHERRY BOMB

Aritzia  tee | Urban Outfitters blouse and bag | Levi's shorts | thrifted sunnies

I was sporting this look on a day that Hannah and I spent roaming Hayes Valley. The different colours and patterns in this look come together and give off a fun vibe that paired nicely with our afternoon of brunching and window shopping. This blouse is something I recently got from urban and I would highly recommend it for  anyone. It's great for layering so I find myself wearing it constantly, especially as the summer months come around. This purse is something I've had for a while but never worn. I was ready to give it up but Hannah reminded me how great it is in her last post and I've really fallen back in love with it's cool colour.

HANNAH | ONE OF A KIND

Vintage tee and jacket | Brandy Melville skirt | Zara blouse | Topshop boots | UO (borrowed) bag

I have long awaited this trip and am happy to have finally landed in San Fran. While Sarah spent the day dancing, I tackled the SF transit system on my own and went thrifting in the mission district. There, I proceeded to exhaust my funds for the whole trip in a matter of hours on clothes and souvenirs (this vintage tee and jacket are evidence of this). Later, Sarah and I ventured into chinatown for dinner and bubble tea, where we took these photos along the way. There is no limit to cool vintage stores and furniture shops in the area and I really fell in love with the character this city has. But I am mostly just happy to be spending time with my best friend again!!!

Cheers,
Hannah

SARAH | MIXED MEDIA

vintage (borrowed) jacket | Pour la Victoire (borrowed) bag | vintage (borrowed) belt | Brandy Melville top | Top Shop jeans, boots and hat.

It has been too long since I've gotten to play around with Hannah's wardrobe but the day has finally come. Here I'm wearing a very busy coat so I played it down with some basics. I also contrasted its oversized fit by wearing tighter layering pieces. I am so happy to have Hannah here with me in SF for a couple of days and I cant wait to share some more looks with you as our vacation continues!

SARAHxPRSPCTV | FREE PEOPLE

Free People Dress (similar here) | Top Shop Jacket and hat | Steve Madden Boots | Zaleska Necklace (borrowed)

Collaborating with the lovely Pierce is always a pleasure! Here I am wearing my absolute favourite Free People dress. The colour scheme and fit of this piece is why I love it so much. The triangle cut out in the neckline gives the opportunity to feature necklaces in a different way. As you can see, I went with a simple black hat and boots but this dress could be worn with jeans and so many other different ways.

HANNAH | HEY JUDE

dress Hey Jude Shop dress | cardigan Noul  cardigan | Aldo boots | Vince (borrowed) purse

I've been doing my best to shop local lately and this outfit features a couple pieces that have proved this effort to be successful. Here I'm wearing a dress I bought at a flea market and this cardigan from a Canadian store, Noul. The biggest obstacle I have with shopping local is the price, but neither of these pieces reflect that. So take the time to dig a little deeper and keep your eyes peeled for new up-and-coming artists in your area. It is a benefit for your community and you too (just wait and see). To help you out, Sarah and I will be collabing with a couple up and coming jewelry artists this summer, so keep checking in!

Cheers,
Hannah

HANNAHxPRSPCTV | VICTOIRE

Pour La Victoire purse | Urban Outfitters blouse | Urban Outfitters Jeans | Top Shop boots

These photos were taken on another really fun day we spent collabing with Pierce. This was the last time Sarah and I were able to take photos since her departure for San Fran, but Summer's coming, so starting in june, ill be happy to be posting much more often and also, to have my best friend back (aahhh!!!). I've worn this shirt on a previous blog post where i foreshadowed this one by describing its versatility to be worn as a layering piece, shirt, and a dress. Other than that, this outfit is made up of my everyday basics: my comfy Urban Outfitters jeans, platform boots, and my favourite H&M leather jacket. Sarah's post is on its way, so look out for the remainder of our photos from this collab.
